Contemporary Dance with Heart: We love to dance. We love meeting others who love to dance. We love making a difference through dance. Flare Dance Company (FDC) is a not-for-profit dance company that provides a platform for adult choreographers and dancers to express themselves through dance and give back to the community. FDC is striving to become a permanent fixture in the performing arts and cultural scene of Melbourne and a leading contemporary dance company that enables emerging and amateur adult dancers and choreographers to pursue their passion for dance performance while making a meaningful difference to the world. FDC stages a production each year, featuring original contemporary dance works and also engage in project-based work. We partner with local charities to raise funds and awareness, and through our annual productions, FDC has raised more than $9000 for local charities to date. FDC has an active presence in Boroondara and regularly performs at community festivals and events. Our Founding Artistic Director was given a Special Commendation Award - Volunteering in 2013. FDC also provides volunteer opportunities in graphics design, marketing & publicity, photography, videography, costume design, makeup artistry, sound & lighting operation, stage management and front of house.
