Flameworks Services Ltd Information

Flameworks was founded by three graduates/staff from Plymouth College of Art and Design in 2001, and is the largest artist-led workspace facility in Devon and Cornwall. It occupies a former industrial unit in Richmond Walk, Devonport, and now houses nearly 24 artists - including ceramicists, jewellers, metalworkers, painters and sculptors. Amongst its facilities, Flameworks has equipment for heavy metal working, with its own forges, specialist processes and a jewellery area. There is also a large membership of artists not based in the building working from their own homes/studios. Artists at Flameworks undertake a wide range of public and private commissions and activities and many members are also involved in educational workshops and projects. Flameworks hosts open studio days and organises 3 to 4 group exhibitions of its members' work annually. Flameworks welcomes applications for full and associate membership which amongst its benefits can give access to its communal facilities, studio waiting list, newsletter, networking and exhibitions opportunities.
