FJORD RUBY Information

FJORD RUBY is a Danish design concept founded in 2016 by Nanna Fjord and Caroline Ruby, with the vision to create a sustainable outerwear brand. Fjord Ruby believes in the future of slow fashion and our concept thus focuses on classic silhouettes for the conscious woman. We introduce our styles in new materials during the year, to make our styles less dependent on the season, detaching ourselves from the established fashion scene and its traditional seasons. Form and color is in our opinion essential when creating good design, but we also believe that we as designers have a responsibility to create and produce consciously. This is why we produce in Europe and have built our concept upon the use of deadstock materials, which is leftover materials from the fashion and textile industry. This way we support ethical working conditions while reducing the excess materials that take up space in many textile factories and risk ending up on landfills in the end. Working with deadstock fabric means that we are limited on how much fabric we find and when. Finding fabric is the first step in our design process and the fabric thus defines the design possibilities. This means that our stock vary for each style. Sometimes we have 20 coats in a certain material, sometimes only 3. That is the premise when designing and producing from deadstock materials - it is the challenge, the advantage and the unique. _____________________________________________________ With FJORD RUBY it is our mission to reduce waste in the fashion industry while creating products of high quality and design that can be loved forever.
