The FIA is the industry association and works to promote best practice within health clubs and leisure centres, as well as to guide the public towards improved health and well-being. The FIA currently represents 2,000 clubs and centres across the UK. As part of their membership of the FIA, all facilities work to comply with a Code of Practice, which is a set of performance standards covering health and safety, staff training and customer care. The Code has been put in place to help clubs and centres ensure you receive the level of service you deserve - so it's facilities must be well maintained and the service you receive must have your safety and care in mind. The ultimate aim of the Code of Practice, which is recognised by the Government, is to raise and maintain the standards of clubs and centres across the UK.
