Alcoa announced on November 20th 2014 that the acquisition of Firth Rixson was complete. The Company closed the transaction, which was announced on June 26, 2014, after receiving all of the required global regulatory approvals and arranging financing for the deal. Firth Rixson strengthens Alcoa’s robust aerospace portfolio and positions the Company to capture greater profitable growth from its expanding value-add business. The transaction doubles Alcoa’s average revenue content on high-growth engine programs. The Firth Rixson businesses are well known for being at the heart of the best-in-class aero engine technology around the world - known as the largest aero engine seamless ring supplier globally and as leaders in conventionally and isothermally forged critical rotating engine discs. The company's unique integrated extrusion and closed die forging operation also supplies the engine market, as well as to the landing gear systems sector.
