At First Cut we are leveraging proprietary software and our automated CNC milling and fixturing processes to provide machined plastic parts within 1-3 business days. Our process is so automated that there is no upfront charge for programming or setup. We are perfectly happy making quantities of 1 or 2. Unlike other machine shops, we typically turn quotes around in one business day or less. We specialize in volumes of 1-10. You don't need large quantity requirements to get our attention. Unlike Additive Rapid Prototyping (RP) technologies such as SLA, SLS or FDM, machined plastic parts are available in a wide variety of engineering resins (e.g. Polycarbonate, ABS, Acetal, Nylon, Polypropylene, High Density Polyethylene, Noryl, UHMW and many more). Accuracy and surface finish for CNC machined parts are also far better than what RP technologies can provide. CNC machined plastic parts are an excellent representation of the properties of a fully tooled injection molded part.
