First Step Center of Scottsdale, Arizona is a men’s substance abuse and dual diagnosis treatment program that offers inpatient residential, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization treatment that address addiction as a health issue rather than a moral failing. By diagnosing and treating all possible co-occurring mental illnesses, such as untreated PTSD or depression, our master's level clinicians help clients create custom recovery plans that work for them. In addition to traditional group and individual therapies, First Step Center offers limited, monitored access to computers, internet, and printers in order for professionals and/or students to maintain a level of communication with the outside world. We understand addiction as a family disease. As such, we are committed to offering treatment that serves both the individual and families in order to educate and repair relationships negatively impacted by the wrath of addiction and other mental health disorders. Inpatient Residential Facility: Situated near Pinnace Peak in Northern Scottsdale, our 10-bed, inpatient residential facility offers stunning vistas of the Sonoran Desert as well as luxurious amenities and sports recreation options such as a tennis court, swimming pool, putting green, basketball court, nature walking trail, horseshoes, and frisbee golf. Clients are given a structured schedule with limited free-time, which allows them to make the most of their time at First Step Center learning coping skills and mechanisms for self-empowerment as well as benefiting from group and individual therapies. Meals are coordinated and cooked by award-winning chef Michael Compean and can be adjusted to meet specific dietary needs. All meals are made with the intention of nourishing the body to aid in the healing and recovery process.
