Established in January 2025 by a group of residents of the Peaks of Grassi neighbourhood, FireSmartPeaks is working with the Town of Canmore, Canmore Fire Rescue and FireSmart Alberta to empower Peaks’ homeowners and residents to take steps to increase the resilience of their homes, properties and the neighbourhood against the threat of wildland fire. This includes working towards the FireSmart Neighbourhood Recognition Program, a national program that recognises communities that have taken critical steps to reduce their vulnerability to wildland fire.
