Born at Toronto’s John Street Roundhouse, home of the Steam Locomotives that connected our nation, Steam Whistle aims to honour an era of quality craftsmanship. They use four all-natural ingredients and live by their motto ‘Do One Thing, Really, Really Well’ to brew Canada’s Premium Pilsner.
With its award-winning beers, distinctive packaging and celebrated culture, Steam Whistle has become a brand well-loved by Canadians, coast to coast. This industry leader now owns and distributes the complementary line from Beau’s Brewery. Steam Whistle’s portfolio proudly includes partner brands for distribution across Canada such as New Belgium Brewing and Phillips Brewing & Malting Co.
Steam Whistle offers great hospitality at its Taproom, Restaurant and Event Spaces in the historic Roundhouse near Toronto’s CN Tower.
Founded in 1985 by Ed McNally, a retired lawyer and barley farmer who had a vision to create a craft brewery long before there was even such a term, we are now proud to have breweries in Vancouver, Calgary and Ontario – making us one of Canada’s largest, independent, true craft brewers. Dedicated to brewing quality craft beer, cider and ready to drink beverages and growing the communities we are a part of, our Brewmaster’s make beer with skill and imagination, utilizing local ingredients and innovative processes, all rooted in Ed’s original passion for excellence.
We are always looking to bring passionate supporters of craft beer along with us on our journey. Our team enjoys competitive salaries and benefits, but more importantly comprises a group of people who have the opportunity to grow their skills and be creative. Our people feel constantly challenged as we strive to expand our horizons, both literally (such as with new bricks and mortar) and figuratively, as we experiment with rare and novel brewing techniques and unusual ingredients.

Nestled in the heart of Muskoka, Muskoka Brewery handcrafts premium beers as unique and refreshing as the region they’re from.
Founders Gary McMullen and Kirk Evans kicked open the doors of Muskoka Brewery in June of 1996. Currently owned and operated by Todd Lewin and Bob MacDonald, what started as a very small and dedicated team has quickly grown to a passionate band of beer lovers more than 120 strong.
In short, we have a passion for great beer and we hope you get a chance to enjoy it. As part of the movement to bring true flavour back to the beers we drink the brews are made with natural ingredients, no preservatives and handcrafted to final perfection by the entire Muskoka brewing team.
HANGING UP THE SUIT FOR A PLAID SHIRT: WORKING AT MUSKOKA BREWERY
Walking into work at Muskoka Brewery is a little different than your average office. With your coffee in one hand and a plaid backpack in the other, you’ll pet four dogs, say thirty hellos, and stop by the brewer’s office for a quick joke, all before getting to your desk. When you work at Muskoka, you hang up the three-piece suit for a red and black plaid. We may do things a little differently, but it makes all the difference: in 2016, we were named one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures™ and proudly announced as Canada's First Living Wage Brewery. In 2020 we earned Great Place to Work Canada Certification. Just like the taste of our award-winning beer, our team’s attitude speaks for itself. It is our values that help shape our culture and our connection to our community.
