Fireflex has been developing, manufacturing and supplying aftermarket suspension products for over 25 years, through this time they have gained priceless product and industry experience that can be seen throughout their current product range. The Fireflex truck product was first developed in the early 1980s and has grown to be one of Australia's largest aftermarket truck and trailer suspension products. The Fireflex product covers Leaf Springs, Shock Absorbers, Shackle Pins and Bushes, Shackle Plates, Chassis Brackets and many more other important suspension parts required to keep your commercial vehicle maintained and on the road. In 2002 Fireflex sourced the help of one of Australia's leading Ride Control Engineers, Steve Meadows. Steve is now a full-time member and Manager of the Fireflex Research and Development Department, and with the same philosophy as the Fireflex team in that our major priority was to build a better type of shock absorber for the Australian transport industry. As stated by Steve Meadows "The majority of trucks used in Australia's transport industry are imported from countries with cooler climates and better road surfaces. Australia's road conditions create heat build-up in shock absorbers, causing inefficient damping and loss of control. That's why I designed Fireflex with a special high temperature fluid and multi-lip Viton rod seals. I also increased the piston and bore size for a better damping effect and gave the hard chrome piston rod a larger than normal diameter to extend its working life. Because a truck's shocks are subject to a massive battering on outback roads, I also increased the tubing wall thickness for extra protection.
