OBI is a chain of home improvement and design (DIY) stores, which has been active in Poland for 20 years. It has the most sophisticated gardening centre nationwide. The company was established in 1970 in Hamburg. The first OBI market in Poland was opened in 1998 in Tychy, Upper Silesia. Today, OBI Poland owns 47 stores in 37 cities across the country, employing more than 4,500 people. The company's social responsibility measures include charitable campaigns supporting the "Dziecica Fantazja" Foundation. As of 2015, OBI Poland holds the Customer Service Quality Star.
