FÍOSÍN is a Social Media Monitor designed to aid emergency management teams before, during and after natural disasters. The Social Media Monitor was developed from 2014-2017 to take in social media messages and give clear, actionable information to emergency management teams. Evaluated by emergency management teams in Ireland, the UK, Germany and Italy, the technology has been brought forward with the support of Enterprise Ireland's Commercialisation Fund (2017-18). Based at Trinity College Dublin School of Computer Science and Statistics, the research team includes PhD and MSc graduates in machine learning, with experience in text and geospatial analysis.
