From our humble beginnings in Northbridge at a time when Italian migrants would seek produce that reminded them of home, Fiorentina has continued these traditions with our typical Italian sweets. Available from North Perth you will find a range of Sicilian canolli filled with traditional patisserie custard and flavoured with vanilla bean, Belgium chocolate or candid orange peel and fresh ricotta. Alternatively the Rum Baba, the sweet dry dough soaked in rum syrup best served with fresh cream or gelato. For those that have travelled to Naples and devoured the crispy sfogliatelle and frolle Napoletane, which are made from a crisp suite pastry filled with ricotta, semolina and candid orange peel. Our passion for pastry also includes the festive seasons, where Fiorentina proudly bakes fresh Panettone at Christmas; the Italian fruit loaf filled with sultana, orange and mix peel. At Easter the Colomba cake, in the shape of the dove representing peace and traditionally shared amongst pagan families during the lent season. Many of our cakes originate from around many other parts of Europe, including the millefoglie, croquembouche, St Honere torte, guglhoff, baklava, tzureki, frangipani tarts, zacher torte, black forest and the vanilla slice.
