FinnZone is a Softlanding created to assist companies from Finland entering or expanding in the U.S. and North American markets. FinnZone is located in the cities of Houghton and Hancock in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. FinnZone will help you scale your company and expand by providing these resources at no cost: • U.S. commercialization strategies and services • STEM talent from Michigan Tech University (MTU) - MTU is ranked by Forbes as a Top 25 U.S. Research University in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) • U.S. Business mentoring • Access to capital Additional free services include location assistance (sites, buildings and associated information), Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) business development resources, alternative lending, and access to local and regional resources and providers, and U.S. Economic Development Association resources. FinnZone also provides reduced rate office space in one or more of our three facilities. A variety of other services are available through FinnZone and regional partners including human resources, sponsored research at Michigan Technological University, financial, marketing, legal, IP, sales, training, Visa/Immigration, formation of U.S. Corporations and more. FinnZone is a team formed through a collaboration of organizations including MTEC SmartZone, Finlandia University, The Finnish American Chamber of Commerce Upper Peninsula (Michigan), WUPPDR, Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance (KEDA) and Michigan Tech University.
