Final Salute Inc. Information

The mission of Final Salute Inc. is to provide homeless female Veterans with safe and suitable housing. Over 2,000,000 female Veterans have served since the Revolutionary War. Over 40,000 female Veterans deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm. Of the 200,000+ female Veterans that deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (OIF/OEF), more than 600 have been wounded and over 100 have been killed. It is estimated that there are currently 55,000 homeless female Veterans in the United States. Heroes should not be homeless. Final Salute Inc. will use every available resource within the communities where we operate, before allocating funding toward building our own communities. Final Salute Inc. is a non-profit (501(c)3) organization which believes in paying homeless female Veterans with the proper respect. Final Salute also works with the female Veteran in establishing a plan towards independence. Of the 500 transitional housing programs for male veterans in the US, a little over half can accept women. Some female Veterans who have experienced military sexual trauma (MST) may not be comfortable staying in co-ed facilities. Addtionally, the waiting lists are long and some female Veterans have minor children for which they are responsible; some facilities cannot accommodate children. With the help of the American people, foundation and corporate supporters, we know our mission is achievable.
