FilmOasis is a Los Angeles-based production company dedicated to producing innovative non-fiction films that reflect the diversity of the human spirit. The company was co-founded in 1999 by James McQuillan with extensive experience conceiving, producing, shooting and editing award-winning non-fiction television. The company has just delivered "The UnDetectables" half reality show, half "Fantastic Voyage," the limited series employs a dynamic SWAT team for the invisible world - five experts who are charged with seeking out the dangers of a microbial realm that exists right inside our homes. In late 2004, FilmOasis created the Limited Collector's Edition DVD for Microsoft's hugely successful Xbox game Halo 2. Selling 2.5 million Limited Edition versions of Halo 2 worldwide, the bonus DVD was designed and produced by FilmOasis. This is the first time any video game has included feature film style content on a bonus disc with their game. Other projects the company produced include "Valley of the T-Rex," a Discovery Channel Quest special with Dr. Jack Horner, "The X Factor: Inside Microsoft's XBOX," a Discovery Channel "On the Inside" special, and "Science at the Edge," a three-hour science and technology series for TLC, Discovery Times, Discovery International and Granada International. Additionally, FilmOasis was commissioned by National Geographic Television to produce "Quest for K2" a six-part series on mountain climbers. In 1999, FilmOasis traveled to remote western Mongolia to film an archaeological dig for another Discovery expedition, "Search for the Ice Warriors." James McQuillan, principal of FilmOasis, has worked for nearly 20 years producing documentary films. After gaining experience in television production in Washington, D.C., he moved to Los Angeles where he worked as Head of Post Production, Executive in Charge of Production, Producer and Executive Producer at ABC/Kane Productions International. Of the many awards received by ABC/Kane, McQuillan's contributions helped the company earn four Emmy Awards, four Genesis Awards, seven Cine Golden Eagle Awards, and a Jackson Hole Film Festival Award, among others. During his seven years at ABC/Kane, McQuillan supervised more than 60 hours of programming for ABC Television, ESPN, Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet and PBS. Projects for ABC included 28 specials in the Series "World of Discovery," "Tales from the Tomb" with Hugh Downs, "Reader's Digest: On Television" and "Chariots of the Gods?
