Filmin is the reference platform for quality cinema and series in Spain, founded in Barcelona in 2007 by Juan Carlos Tous, Jaume Ripoll and José Antonio De Luna. We are the cultural alternative. A platform built by people who love cinema and have decided to live by and for that passion. Rather than algorithmic recommendations, we champion human curation and editorialisation as the cornerstone of our offer. Filmin represents a unique success story in the European landscape. We were born without analogous references and have been pioneers in almost everything: the first flat-rate subscription of a streaming platform in the European Union, the first European Smart TV application for a VOD service, the first internet platform in Spain to broadcast a television series... and much more. Since 2022, we have been the highest-rated streaming platform by Spanish users according to the OCU (Organisation of Consumers and Users). Also since 2022, the Observatorio de la Cultura awards us first place as «Best Digital Cultural Initiative» in Spain.
