FijiStiftelsen was founded in 2011 and is an independent, non-governmental organisation which works to improve the daily lives of women and children on Fiji. This is done by providing financial aid to individuals, families and projects on Fiji. Projects are chosen carefully and followed up closely by the members of the board. Projects must have a local basis and local partners will shoulder most of the responsibility for implementing and following up projects. We have stringent requirements as regards documentation in connection with our projects, and financial aid is given to help people help themselves and contribute to development based on local terms. FijiStiftelsen guarantees that 100% of donors’ contributions go directly to the projects the foundation supports. Administration costs are covered by the board and our partners. All donations are traceable and audited by an accountant. The foundation wants to have an open profile to help donors easily see what their contributions go towards. This is done through FijiStiftelsen’s website and quarterly news reports sent out to all regular donors.
