FICOMIC, la Federación de Instituciones Profesionales del Cómic, nace en 1988 con el objetivo de difundir y promocionar el inagotable arte del cómic. Una entidad sin ánimo de lucro formada por los gremios de editores, libreros y distribuidores de Cataluña. Desde 1989 FICOMIC organiza Comic Barcelona (antes llamado Salón Internacional del Cómic de Barcelona) y desde 1995, Manga Barcelona (antes Salón del Manga de Barcelona). FICOMIC, the Federation of Professional Comic Institutions, was born in 1988 with the aim of promoting the endless art of comics. A non-profit organization formed by the guilds of publishers, booksellers and distributors in Catalonia. Since 1989, FICOMIC has organized Comic Barcelona (previously called the Barcelona International Comic Fair) and since 1995, Manga Barcelona (previously the Barcelona Manga Fair).
