Ferro Financial, LLC was started in 2006 by Shelley M. Ferro. The firm is headquartered in Metairie, LA, a suburb of New Orleans, LA. The firm was started on the principle of employing a strategic approach to delivering financial planning and investment advisory services. In addition to delivering objective advice, that advice should be delivered by a credentialed advisor. Credentials are important because it indicates a level of education, experience, and training that the advisor has undergone. After working for Wall Street Firms, Ms. Ferro saw first hand the problems of delivering commissioned financial products by "advisors" that lacked proper financial training, education, and credentialing. Ferro Financial, LLC began it's operations with financial planning, and investment advisory services. In 2009 the firm began offering tax preparation services to those clients that had a relationship with the firm. In 2011 Ferro Financial, LLC was approved to offer the investment products of Dimensional Fund Advisors. Dimensional Funds only allows approved firms to bring their investment philosophy and low cost securities to investors.
