Fernstone Retreat is one of Pennsylvania's finest Retreats and is the perfect location for your Wedding, Family Reunion, Vacation, Corporate Retreat, Executive Meetings and Conferences, or any large group. Fernstone Retreat is tucked away on 450 acres adjoining State Gamelands in the Laurel Mountains just off Historic Route 40 in Farmington PA. We are approximately 50 miles from Pittsburgh, and only 38 miles from Morgantown WV. Fernstone offers two stocked fishing ponds, illuminated walking trails, stream with waterfall, hiking trails, covered pavillion, Game Room with wet bar, large fields for playing games, fire pit, horseshoes, croquet, and half basketball court. The Corral (main Lodge) offers a fully equipped kitchen, large stone fireplace, living, dining area, private bathrooms. Fernstone Retreat is just minutes from Nemacolin Golf & Ski Resort and Ohiopyle State Park which offers Hiking, Biking, Swimming, Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking. Ohiopyle Pa offers some of the best whitewater rafting on the east coast! Just a few miles away you will find two homes designed by famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob offer tours of these homes. Fernstone Retreat was built in 1940 by James Hankins a prominent local businessman and used as a mountain retreat and conference center for prominent politicians and business owners of the day. Some of these notable people include President's Richard Nixon and Dwight D Eisenhower. The original integrity of the décor and feeling has been preserved throughout the property.
