Lance Stroll is intent on fighting for FIA Formula 3 European Championship honours in 2016. The 17-year-old is already a multi-champion in motor racing and has set his sights on ultimately graduating to the highest echelon in the sport - Formula One. There has not been a Canadian driver in F1 for almost 10 years but Lance is on-track to be the next having been selected by Williams Martini Racing in November 2015 to join its Young Driver Development Programme. But for 2016, Lance is focussed on achieving F3 success with the Italian Prema Powerteam in his second year in the category. Lance has progressed impressively up the motor racing ladder. He received a mini-kart on his fifth birthday and began karting competitively three years later. He went on to record numerous race and championship wins in karting and was selected for a place in the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy in 2010. Lance progressed into cars in 2014, winning the Italian Formula 4 Championship that year and then the 2015 Toyota Racing Series. He was acclaimed a "stand-out" performer in his maiden FIA F3 Euro Series campaign in 2015, achieving six overall podiums, finishing fifth overall and third in the Rookie Championship. Fluent in English and French, Lance is motivated on and off the track. Intelligent and highly determined, he firmly believes that hard work will help him to fulfil his dream. Geneva-based Lance declares: "I am 100% committed in achieving my ultimate goal of competing in Formula One. But my immediate priority is to first succeed in F3. My focus in 2016 is winning the F3 Euro Series title."
