FEFCO was founded in 1952 and is based in Brussels. The federation represents around 500 companies with a total of 750 production sites, around 100,000 employees, and production of around 40 billion m2 of corrugated board each year. "Business in the corrugated board sector is becoming increasingly international, as we are seeing in the case of our own company. A few years ago, the Klingele Group founded the Blue Box Partners Alliance (www.blueboxpartners.eu) along with three corrugated cardboard manufacturers from France, Spain, and Belgium. Around 20% of their joint turnover comes from European customers. "It is therefore important for us to position our sector as providers of sustainable packaging solutions at a European level.
