CARLA International is a sustainable development organisation committed to empowering marginalised communities by designing and implementing projects that address their most pressing needs. Our focus is on building resilience, reducing risk and vulnerability, enhancing food security, diversifying livelihood options, and promoting the sustainable use of environmental resources.
We recognise the critical link between sustainable development and climate change. CARLA International understands that climate change exacerbates existing social, economic, and environmental challenges, particularly for vulnerable communities. Our work integrates climate resilience into development initiatives, ensuring our interventions address immediate needs while building long-term resilience against climate-related risks.
Using a Sustainable Livelihood and Wellbeing framework, we ensure our interventions are impactful and culturally relevant. Success in our initiatives depends on a deep understanding of social, cultural, and political contexts. Through rigorous situation analysis, participatory consultation, and ethnomethodology, we tailor strategies to the unique needs of the communities we serve, especially in the face of climate change.
Our work is driven by a belief in the transformative power of socio-economic development and climate resilience. We enable communities to build resilient, long-term economic opportunities that withstand the impacts of climate change. By partnering with local communities, organisations, and businesses, we integrate marginalised groups into private sector ventures—empowering them as producers and informed consumers.
At CARLA International, we are dedicated to creating pathways out of poverty that are inclusive and sustainable, helping people build resilience and adapt to climate change through innovative development solutions.
