Feed Sack Store Information

Cody Johns started the Feed Sack Store with the goal of helping educate the American people of the benefits of recycling. She started by taking the bags animal food is packed in from the trash and sewing them into tote bags for her family, and eventually branched into selling the bags to show people the possibilities of reusing and recycling. Although Cody is now studying Information Technology at the University of North Texas in Denton, she is still passionate about teaching other how they can help save the world. Over the past few years she has found numerous ways to recycle materials that normally go to the land fills. Including her newest adventure, recycling Cowgirl/Cowboy boot tops into stylish evening bags. Every bag starts as a piece of material headed for the landfill. The Feed Sack Store finds these materials and does a rigorous cleaning and testing process. The materials are then taken to our work room where the design begins. Every bag we make goes through several different design stages to find the best style and color combination. After a style has been decided, the materials are then sewn into a unique bag. While the Feed Sack Store has bags listed for sale online most of our business is custom orders so we can create a one of a kind bag that you will fall in love with.
