Federated Pharmaceutical (FP 2014), situated in the Kingston Industrial Estate, was founded in 1958, as the first manufacturer of ethical (prescription) pharmaceuticals in the English speaking Caribbean. Federated Pharmaceutical became a wholly owned Jamaican company in 1965 when the Lascelles deMercado Group of Companies acquired controlling interest from Dow Chemicals and the holdings of Ledoga La Petit Group of Milan, Italy. The company was acquired in April 2015 by Kirk Distributors Ltd, a member of the Cari-Med Group. Federated Pharmaceutical manufactures pharmaceutical and veterinary products.
