FD Global Solutions Information

FD Global Solutions was founded in 1978, under the name of FD Consulting, to provide consulting service and software solutions, cross-industry. From 1978 through 1984, we were a leader in mini-computer based ERP, accounting systems and software consulting services with a customer base of nearly 100 clients. In 1983, FD Consulting was one of the first companies to recognize the importance of non-stop, fault-tolerant systems for the securities industry and was one of the first companies to offer Stratus Computer based application solutions. Initial products offered include fault tolerant message routing and stock exchange ticker plants. Beginning in 1987, FD Consulting extended these products to include Unix-based solutions. FD Consulting was one of the first companies in the industry to offer a reliable, IP broadcast, market data distribution platform for heterogeneous networks, global trader workstations on both a X Windows and Microsoft Windows platforms, and the industry's first commercial retail broker quote terminal designed to operate on TCP/IP networks. In 1992, FD Consulting signed a global agreement with Andersen Consulting for the distribution of FD Consulting's securities/finance software products through Andersen's global consultancy network. In 1993, FD Consulting's financial industry products and related staff was sold to CSK/Micrognosis, a global IT services provider, based in Japan. The remaining parts of the company were reorganized as FD Solutions, Inc. to provided ongoing software consultancy services, and in particular, Y2K conversion solutions. In 2004, FD Solutions re-branded itself as FD Global Solutions to better reflect its business focus and commitment to the incorporation of offshore delivery models for software solutions and services.
