FC Nelson Information

Each of these football clubs had their own proud histories and the decision to merge these was not taken lightly, but it was felt that by amalgamating into what has become FC Nelson, we would be able to offer ongoing opportunities to all our members that may not be possible while continuing to operate as smaller independent units. For the 2011 season we have had over 900 members spread across junior, youth, and mens and womens teams which makes us the largest football club in the Nelson Marlborough region and in 2012 we look forward to utilising the strength that this membership gives us to work towards creating a Club all members can be proud to be part of. Fast forward to 2016 - we have approximately 28 junior teams competing in the winter league across Nelson Bays, are involved in club tournaments and run a successful holiday program, skill centre, and summer football program. Our own Director of Football, Andy Morris, oversees all areas of football development and is one of the most qualified coaches in the region. Our long term aim is make football accessible and enjoyable at all levels of the game and to give players of all ages and coaches the chance to develop to whatever level they aspire to.
