The Antinori family has been committed to the art of winemaking for over six centuries since 1385 when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member, of the “Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri”, the Florentine Winemakers’ Guild. All throughout its history, twenty-six generations long, the Antinori family has managed the business directly making innovative and sometimes bold decisions while upholding the utmost respect for traditions and the environment.

A UNIQUE BLEND OF HOSPITALITY AND WINE MAKING TRADITION A 1100 hectare estate in the heart of Valdarno and Il Borro’s fascinating one thousand years of history. The Estate includes a medieval village brought back to life by the Ferragamo family, which has made it a destination like no other. A stay at Il Borro Relais & Châteaux means an authentic Tuscan experience, where various types of luxury accommodation co-exist harmoniously with the life of a farming business that makes eco-sustainability its philosophy. Many are the “experiences” designed for the guests to discover the true essence of Il Borro. The vineyards of Il Borro grow on the Valdarno hills, an ideal terroir for the production of fine wines and they are cultivated following the principles of tradition, nature and sustainability combined with the most innovative wine making techniques. The wines of Il Borro are made with Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Syrah grapes. Il Borro offers a culinary experience that has its roots in Tuscan tradition with the use of prime local produce and modern interpretations of recipes from times gone by. Following a circular economy concept, Il Borro’s organic products feature in the menus of its restaurants. This farm-to table philosophy has been carried around the world, with the opening of the concept restaurant “ Il Borro Tuscan Bistro”, in Florence, in Dubai, in the heart of London and in the Mediterranean island of Crete. Love for this land means above all respect for the life cycles, and the use renewable energy sources is oriented towards a green economy. Organic olive oil, cheese , honey and grains, are produced on the farm, organic vegetables and fruits are grown in the Orto del Borro vegetable garden. This philosophy pervades all activities on the Estate, creating a union between luxury hospitality and the life of a state of the art farming enterprise, and making it a truly unique place.

Vignamaggio is a historic working farm in the heart of Tuscany, committed to the art of winemaking since 1404, and to high-end hospitality since 2014. We offer stylish rooms, self-catering villas & a fairy-tale event venue. The estate, which began conversion to full organic status in 2014, has embarked on an ambitious restoration project covering the territory of the upper Val di Greve. This has involved renovating ancient buildings and putting uncultivated land back into production using artisanal craft and organic expertise. At the core of the estate’s business lie its vineyards; 62 hectares of Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malvasia Bianca and Trebbiano vines, which produce a distinguished Chianti Classico, excellent single varietal wines and exciting new blends that give full expression to our terroir. In addition to the vineyards and 30 hectares of olive groves, we have established a free-range herd of Cinta Senese pigs to roam in our woodlands, and have planted orchards and fields of soft fruit. The introduction of new crops, orchards and organic agriculture are an integral part of the Vignamaggio project. Our aim is to go beyond the conventional olive grove/vineyard combination to embrace a wider concept of Tuscan farming; open to the best of the new while respecting the values of the old and working in harmony with nature.
