The Lehigh Valley Catz are an amateur summer collegiate baseball team in our 3rd year of existence. The Catz will be playing all home games at the Charles W. Richards Memorial Field located at Easton Area High School, in Easton, PA. After two very successful seasons in the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, the Catz will now participate in the NCAA sanctioned Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL) in 2003. The ACBL is a very competitive Wood Bat Summer Collegiate League with ten franchises located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. Each ACBL team is comprised of 23 players currently enrolled in colleges and universities nationwide. We will compete in a 42 game ACBL schedule and hope to continue to attract professional scouts to each game. During our two years as members of the MACBL, the Catz compiled an overall record of 50-12 capturing the MACBL Championship each year. Four of our former players played baseball professionally in 2002, while 3 others were selected in the June 2002 Major League Baseball amateur draft. Each summer about 25 young men, top collegiate baseball players from all across the USA, come here to the Lehigh Valley to chase their dreams of one day becoming a professional baseball player. They come here from places like Texas, Arkansas and Georgia just to play for the Lehigh Valley Catz in the prestigious Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, one of only nine summer leagues in existence across the country that is supported and sanctioned by Major League Baseball and the NCAA. The ACBL is a summer wooden bat league about to enter its 42nd year of existence this summer and has produced many current and former big leaguers' including Craig Biggio, Jamie Moyer, Matt Morris, Rick Cerone, Frank Viola and local product Pat Kelly.
