Family Bridges, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1968 during the Civil Rights movement. For over 5 decades we have evolved to meet the needs of the underserved: that is, monolingual Asian immigrants, our chronically ill seniors and disabled adults, mlow income children, the houseless, and formerly incarcerated individuals all striving for independence and quality of life. Family Bridges includes eight major programs that are designed to provide equal access to direct health and social services. It is our goal to prevent many of the disadvantaged individuals in our community from becoming unemployed, institutionalized or house less because of discrimination and cultural barriers. Our program foci range from a childcare center, to a drop in senior center ,to two adult day healthcare centers; a social services center, a community health home, an emergency homeless shelter, and a community ambassador program. Maintaining status quo is not an option for our organization. We continue to strive for progressive programming, pay attention to evolving needs of our community, promote proactive strategies, and develop collaborative relationships to maintain the momentum of our mission to serve.
