Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp provides “a different kind of healing” to more than 25,000 seriously ill children and family members annually – all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families, Hole in the Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Conn., in 40 hospitals and clinics, directly in camper homes and communities, and through other outreach activities across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
Flying Horse Farms (FHF) is a medical specialty camp that makes it possible for kids with serious illnesses and their families to find hope, joy, and belonging - always at no cost.
Camp serves kids 7-21 with diagnoses including cancer, heart conditions, rheumatologic diagnoses, blood disorders, lung conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, craniofacial diagnoses, rare diagnoses, spinal cord diagnoses, and internalized mental health conditions.
Camp is where safety is paired with belonging and fun. Activities like swimming, boating, fishing, high ropes, archery, and arts and crafts are adapted so that every kid can safely participate. Our on-site health center, the "Wellnest" is staffed 24/7 by medical specialists from children's hospitals in Ohio and beyond.
FHF is accredited by the American Camp Association and is part of the SeriousFun Children’s Network - founded by Paul Newman - to be a community of independently managed and financed camps creating opportunities for children with serious illnesses and their families.
