Fairlight Instruments Information

Here's how UNESCO describes Fairlight's contribution to the music industry: "The Fairlight, truly one of the pioneers of the art and science of digital sound. Starting in 1975, two visionaries named Peter Vogel and Kim Ryrie combined their love of music and fascination with the emerging computer revolution to create what has become a heritage of digital audio firsts that transformed the music, post-production and broadcast industries, and helped position them on a course through the next century." To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the sale of the first CMI systems, my newly-formed company Fairlight Instruments is producing a limited edition 30th Anniversary model, the Fairlight CMI–30A. The 30A will have the look and feel of the original instrument, but use the latest technology to provide a much more powerful and reliable instrument at a fraction of the cost of the original. A roadmap is being developed for a range of subsequent products which build on this technology.
