The Foundation was founded by the Fedrigoni S.p.A., a family owned business that has dedicated passion and expertise to paper for five generations and in 2002 acquired the historic paper mill, Cartiere Miliani Fabriano and its precious paper heritage. The Foundation, which is a non-profit organisation, aims to support the promotion of the study of the history of paper and related disciplines and promote the development and dissemination of paper science; to protect and manage the Historical Archives of Miliani Fabriano Paper Mills, the first business archives declared "historically interesting" in Italy on the 20th of July, 1964.
