End of 2003 TagStar Systems GmbH acquired 51% equity interest in ExypnoTech from NanoPierce Technologies, Inc., Denver, Colorado, USA. TagStar (www.tagstar-systems.de) develops, produces and markets RFID components such as smart inlays (transponders). The company's product portfolio is supplemented by read/write devices from selected partner firms. TagStar aims to be an all-service, single-source supplier for customers requiring RFID services and solutions. ExypnoTech is the first company worldwide to produce RFID components using WaferPierceÔ technology. The technical and economic advantages of WaferPierceÔ, coupled with the management team's expertise in RFID technology, gave impetus to the decision to tackle the challenges of the fast-growing yet cost-sensitive RFID market.
