Extra Local Media was formed in 2012 by a group of experienced professionals with a combined skill set that encompasses media, newsprint, magazines, marketing and communication, retail and distribution. The team shared a collective desire to produce high quality regional newspapers, serving up truly local news, written by local editors and journalists who are embedded in local life. Launched initially as a prototype paid for publication in Northamptonshire the brand now publishes 4 hyper-local newspapers in Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough and Rushden. Distributing a minimum of 31,000+ copies across the 4 towns. The product is part paid for and part free and is distributed by letterbox and via WH Smith's distribution services to 174 retail outlets across the county including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and WH Smith Retail.
