Extra Byte Information

Software house producing technical-scientific software and firmware, mostly for third parties on contractual basis. Development of algorithms, virtual instrumentation, software-defined hardware, consulting in the area of scientific instrumentation and educational tools are also in the focus of Extra Byte activities. Application-wise, the main interest of the Company in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance in all its walks - from basic physics through instrumentation and devices to application data evaluation. Stan Sykora, the owner and factotum of Extra Byte believes that Magnetic Resonance reflects, exemplifies, and embodies all the problems of Science :-) The closest, long-term collaboration of Extra Byte is with Mestrelab Research, the Spanish Company producing affordable software for NMR spectroscopy and beyond. However, Extra Byte is also in close contact with several academic groups, and maintains friendly contact with virtually the whole NMR community, including all related Companies. The goal is to maintain an independent position and promote Magnetic Resonance as a discipline - both theoretical and practical - and to provide educational materials and services, mostly free of any charge. Amazingly, it seems to work in the sense of generating enough revenue to be able to keep going. In 2013, Extra Byte is planning to greatly enhance its free educational online activities in the area of Magnetic Resonances. Any support of this goal is welcome and will be fully acknowledged.
