Das Ziel von Experiment e.V. ist seit über 85 Jahren der Austausch zwischen Menschen aller Kulturen, Religionen und Altersgruppen. Experiment e.V. ist gemeinnützig und das deutsche Mitglied von "The Experiment in International Living" (EIL). 2018 reisten 2.199 Teilnehmende mit Experiment e.V. ins Ausland und nach Deutschland. Ein Drittel davon erhielten Stipendien. Kooperationspartner sind u.a. das Auswärtige Amt, die Botschaft der USA, das Bundesministerium für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend, das Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung, der Deutsche Bundestag, das Goethe-Institut und die Stiftung Mercator.
