EXPEDITIO Information

EXPEDITIO - Center for Sustainable Spatial Development is NGO based in Kotor (Montenegro), founded in 1997 by six students of architecture at the University of Belgrade. EXPEDITIO has implemented more than 100 projects and activities addressing various issues of sustainable spatial development, such as: urban planning and management, sustainable cities, public spaces, energy efficiency in building sector, green architecture, cultural heritage and landscape, etc. EXPEDITIO main types of activities include: education and raising awareness campaigns, developing studies and researches, organizing events (workshops, discussions, lectures, seminars, exhibitions…), advocacy, publishing (~40 editions), activities in public spaces etc. EXPEDITIO has been involved in various participatory planning and decision making processes and was represented in the National Council for Sustainable Development of Montenegro. EXPEDITIO is an active member of several regional and EU networks, such as Civil Scape, Balkan Express Network, Europa Nostra and the South East European (SEE) Heritage Network. For its activities in the field of sustainable spatial development, EXPEDITIO has received several awards and recognition at the national and regional level. EXPEDITIO head office is based in Kotor and branch office in Belgrade.
