exod is a walking app that helps you discover the heritage around you. It works in four steps. You walk as you normally would. As you walk, you discover and unlock the places, historical figures and local specialities around you. Your steps also earn Oboles, the game's currency, and each evening you deposit them into the common treasury. At the end of each cycle, walkers vote for the project they want to support. Saving heritage is not just about giving it money. It starts with knowing it, making it known, understanding what condition it is in, and bringing people to places they used to walk past without noticing. That is what the game produces, walk after walk. And at the end of each cycle, exod makes a real donation to the organisation behind the chosen project: an association, a foundation, a local authority, a craftsperson. One important point: walkers pay nothing and give no money of their own. exod is the one committing the funds. The patronage is carried by the company and financed by its advertising model. Walkers bring time, effort and numbers. What this changes for a project holder: your site and its story brought to walkers who discover it as they pass by a local community mobilised around your restoration work, not an anonymous audience proof content (photos, milestones, progress updates) that makes the project real for thousands of people additional funding, donated by exod Built heritage and living heritage: chapels, washhouses, market halls, workshops, crafts at risk of disappearing for lack of a successor. Projects are real, identified and named. The amount donated is public. exod is developed by GC TECH, based in Montpellier, France.
