[ew32] develops Serious Urban Games (SUG) by using the drøme-participation methodology. A SUG creates a challenging learning environment for the target group to approach a serious subject in a playful way through training, orientation and exploration with new technologies and modern communications. A SUG is a game/method which uses mobile communication and localization resources, such as a mobile phone or GPS, in a playful way in an urban environment. The drøme-participation methodology consists of Learning- and GameLabs. In LearningLabs, the target group learns to express their views on ‘serious’ topics in the proper manner. They learn to share their opinions and feelings with young people from all strata of society. They incite each other to participation and give each other sense. It is a participatory technique in which young people brainstorm about the serious subject. In de GameLabs the target group develops a game based on the content received from the brainstorm in de LearningLabs. Eventually the target groups play the game effectively in the city.
