The RAD is one of the world’s most influential dance education and training organisations. With its global headquarters in London, the RAD works locally and around the world to bring dance to diverse communities, widen access to dance and share the benefits and wellbeing that dance brings. With a strong global membership presence in over 85 countries, each year around 250,000 dancers learn the RAD syllabus and take exams. Over 1,000 students are enrolled in in-person and distance-learning dance teacher training programmes. The RAD empowers people through dance education and enjoyment and believes that ‘every body’ should have the opportunity to learn to dance.

Established in 1986 as a resource centre for dance professionals and the public in British Columbia, The Dance Centre is a multifaceted organization offering a range of activities unparalleled in Canadian dance. Our goal is to support the development of a vibrant dance scene in BC and increase the profile of dance, by providing resources and services for the dance profession; presenting public performances and events; operating one of Canada’s flagship dance facilities; and promoting BC dance. The Dance Centre is a non-profit organization and a registered charity.

Founded in 1986, our first years were spent inside a cozy old firehouse on Snelling Ave. Word about the new studio traveled quickly, and our dance family grew and grew; owner and founder Marcy McHenry (a professional dancer herself) began dreaming of a larger floor to quickstep on. In 2010, her vision became reality, and Dancers Studio moved six blocks up the street to a gorgeous new space – where it remains to this day. Some things haven’t changed, though. We remain committed to excellence, both on and off the dance floor. Our instructors are personally interested in each and every one of their students, and have the knowledge and experience to help meet a variety of dance goals; our outgoing and friendly administrative team is always around to greet clients, answer questions, and schedule lessons.
