Clif Bar was born on a bike. In 1990, Gary Erickson set off on a 175-mile bike ride. Exhausted and hungry, he realized he couldn’t take another bite of the energy bars he brought along. In that moment he now calls ‘the epiphany,’ he had the idea to make a better tasting energy bar.
Guided by Five Aspirations – Sustaining our People, our Business, our Brands, our Community and the Planet – Clif Bar is a family- and employee- owned company that loves food. We believe that food provides health, joy and energy to do the things we are passionate about. The food we create is good for people and the planet.
We believe that happy, healthy people create the best food. We want to help our people live the lives they want to live so we’ve created an environment where our people can grow and succeed both personally and professionally. We strive to:
• Create a company culture that inspires and supports our people in and outside work.
• Sustain our people with competitive pay and innovative benefits and holistic wellness offerings.
• Hire the right people for the right positions and support them to grow in their current and future roles.
Working at Clif Bar is a chance to make impactful changes. To your career. To your community. To the planet. And, to your life!
Ben & Jerry’s believes business has a responsibility to give back to the community. We make the best possible ice cream in the nicest way possible
What makes Ben & Jerry's, Ben & Jerry's?
Fresh & Extraordinary dairy: wholly cow-created milk & cream from our farmer friends who have promised not to treat their herds with bioengineered growth hormones. All natural flavorings, exceptional extracts & amazing purees.
Collossal chunks & exquisite nibbles, specially selected for their "oh, my!" excellence. Sensational swirls & wicked rich whorls thick enough to lose your spoon in. The passion we have for creating innovative flavors and concoctions of uncompromisingly high quality.
What makes Ben & Jerry's Ben & Jerry's is the people dedicated to making sure every scoop of Ben & Jerry's delivers a tastebud-boggling odyssey great enough to take you all the way to the state of euphoria. Every time.
ONCE UPON A TIME....
...there were cows in Brooklyn. And the cows grazed on Brooklyn's lush ample hills. Although the cows are gone and the grassy hills have made way for rows of brownstones, the pastoral small-town spirit of old Brooklyn lives on at our neighborhood ice cream shops and in the playful, nostalgic flavors we create.
We named Ample Hills after Walt Whitman's poem Crossing Brooklyn Ferry, which speaks of the connectedness of people across time and space...
What is it, then, between us?
What is the count of the scores or hundreds of years between us?
Whatever it is, it avails not-Distance avails not and place avails not. I too lived-Brooklyn of Ample Hills, was mine.
We opened Ample Hills Creamery in the Spring of 2011, terrified no one would show up, and wholly unprepared for when they did. We were novice entrepreneurs and new parents, at the start of a wild and rocky ride. We dedicated ourselves to making ice cream the old-fashioned way, slowly, by hand. Some of our signature flavors include Salted Crack Caramel, Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, The Munchies and Snap Mallow Pop! These playful, whimsical flavors reflect the creativity of our Amployees, the vibrancy and spirit of our community, and our daily pledge to not take life too seriously – or at least ice cream.
