Evatt Primary School Information

We deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in line with the new Australian Curriculum, meeting local and individual needs. Japanese is the LOTE (Language Other Than English) taught at Evatt School since 2014. All K-6 students in the school participate in one lesson of Japanese per week. Lessons are undertaken in our Japanese room which features Japanese style furniture and Japanese artefacts and displays. We are really proud of our well resourced school which enables students to use a variety of technologies to support learning across all curriculum areas. Our curriculum is further enriched by visits to places of historical and geographical importance and by concerts and performances within the school. We also have a residential camp program that allows students to experience life and learning outside of the classroom. Evatt School actively fosters and teaches respectful relationships within its community. Every member of the school community is respected and valued for their contribution to the education of all. We believe that it is important to encourage all students to adopt healthy lifestyles. We believe in developing in our students an awareness of the environment and ways that we can reduce pollution. Evatt's environmentally friendly community actively promotes sustainable practices across the school. All students from preschool to year 6 are encouraged to use our school library to help build a love of reading. There are a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction books. Students are encouraged to bring a book bag to school every day which can also be used for carrying library books safely. We believe that all students have talents - it is important to give students opportunities to explore and discover their uniqueness. We welcome all visitors to come and view our wonderful school.
