European Music Day - Greek Network Information

M.E.S.O. Events (http://mesoevents.eu) is a NPO that was created with the support of French and Hellenic Ministries of Culture in 1998. Since then European Music Day has become a national event that takes place today simultaneously throughout Greece (in the 13 regions of the country). It combines the production and promotion of a series of events that vary in size and in character (street music festivals, show cases, recitals or big concerts) aiming all together to create unity though diversity! The Greek network of the European Music Day (EMD) organisers: Representing one of Europe’s largest common live music events, EMD Greece is a network of partners evolving on a local or regional level, working on producing and establishing as many as possible music performances of different repertoires (450 concerts and 50 workshops, discussions, exhibitions... in 2018), all over Greece (55 Cities in 2018). Every year, during the Summer Solstice on June 21st, thousands of Music performances are organized and coordinated with the support of Institutional & private partners and entrance is always free. The European Association of the Music Day Organisers: “A.I.S.B.L. Fête Européenne de la Musique - I.N.P.O. European Music Day Association” is a Belgian law non-profit organisation established in Brussels in 1995. The “Fête Européenne de la Musique” Network started as the result of the common goals of European organizers or coordinators appointed by Ministries, Departmental or Municipal authorities of main European capitals (see list of members in www.europeanmusicday.eu) to sign a common charter an create the AISBL in 1995.
