EU Chips Design Platform Information

The European Chips Design Platform is being developed to strengthen Europe’s semiconductor innovation ecosystem, with a focus on supporting fabless startups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and research organizations. Established under the European Chips Act, the platform will provide cloud-based access to semiconductor design tools, intellectual property (IP) libraries, training programs, pilot line technologies, and funding support services. The platform’s goal is to democratize chip design by lowering technical and financial barriers, accelerating innovation, and fostering the growth of new and existing semiconductor companies across Europe. Developed by a consortium of leading European research and innovation organizations and coordinated by imec, the platform is scheduled to become operational in 2026.
