The company´s VivaSight™ technology platform, which is still in clinical use today, was developed and industrialized under the technical leadership of Dipl.-Ing. Elias Daher during his time as Director of R&D at ETView Medical. This second-generation platform formed the technological basis of the VivaSight™ product line and introduced continuous airway visualization into routine clinical practice. The VivaSight™ concept combines an endotracheal or double-lumen tube with an integrated miniature camera and light source, enabling continuous visualization of the airway during intubation and ventilation. The development covered system architecture, electronics, optics, mechanics, software, and manufacturing concepts, and was accompanied by extensive verification, validation, and regulatory preparation. The underlying technology was protected by multiple patents and successfully transferred into industrial production, including the setup of manufacturing and supply chain. Following market adoption, the technology and product line were integrated into Ambu A/S after the acquisition of ETView Medical. ETView Medical was founded in 2004 (by Prof. Noam Gavriely) to develop video-integrated airway management solutions. The company’s first product generation, including the TVT (endotracheal tube with integrated camera), was developed during the early phase of the company with focus on difficult intubation.
