The Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación (ETSIT) of the University of Valladolid was created in 1991. Until 1997, it was provisionally located in the town centre, next to the Colleges of Medicine and Science. In academic year 1997-98, the ETSIT, together with Electronic Engineering, left its previous location so as to settle in a new larger and more functional building which is known as "Edificio de Tecnologías de la Información y las Telecomunicaciones" (Campus "Miguel Delibes"). The complex includes large and small classrooms and seminars, laboratories equipped with all the latest technology in multimedia and electronic systems, several general-purpose computer rooms, a videoconference studio and a general library. The administrative services and staff’s offices are also located in the premises. In addition, the building has its own cafeteria and parking areas. Even though the school is quite young, the ETSIT has been part of countless summits, conventions and forums related with the telecommunications and electronics field, both in a national and international level.
