Vital Motion™ is a medical device company focused on therapeutic products to reduce symptoms of hypotension and hypo perfusion common to fibromyalgia and other chronic health conditions.
Vital Motion™ is renowned for its commitment to innovation and product excellence and boasts a values-driven team focused on delivering outstanding and innovative therapeutic medical device products to their customers. Vital Motion’s™ principal product is the VM-100 Hummingbird™—a non-invasive mechanical stimulation device designed to stimulate contraction of the soleus muscles.
Researchers at many leading academic medical institutions have found correlations between fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome with abnormally low blood pressure that may occur after prolonged periods of standing or sitting, a condition known medically as "orthostatic hypotension." Orthostatic hypotension may also contribute to hypo perfusion—a lowered amount of blood circulating through the brain. One cause of this drop in blood pressure is the accumulation of blood and fluid in the lower extremities resulting in decreased blood return to the heart and lower blood flow to the brain.
In normal individuals who are sitting or standing, excess blood and fluid that accumulates in the lower extremities is pumped back to the heart by the slow rhythmic contractions of the soleus muscle in the calf of each leg. Thus, the soleus assists in maintaining normal blood flow throughout the body. However, in some individuals, including many sedentary individuals, the soleus muscle is not appropriately activated and the patient may suffer from low blood pressure, poor blood circulation or both.
By using the VM-100 Hummingbird™ twice daily for 10 to 30 minutes per session, the soleus muscle is stimulated potentially reducing many symptoms associated with fibromyalgia (FM) and chronic fatigue syndrome.
The VM-100 Hummingbird™ is available on a 30 day free trial basis prior to purchase.
Core Dynamics is developing new methods for freezing, thawing and freeze-drying cells. The company's unique freezing and thawing technology allows precise control, and in a repeatable process, with high recovery, survival and function of cells after thawing. Cells, preserved with the Company's technologies and specially developed protocols can be stored for long time periods at room temperature and subsequently rehydrated with resultant high rates of cell viability and functionality. The company's preservation technologies are already providing means for cell storage of cell types that are being studied for therapeutic purposes. This breakthrough is based in part on the innovative freezing technology called Multi Thermal Gradient (MTG™) freezing developed by the company. This freezing method, also known as directional freezing, achieves low temperature freezing without the use of glycerol or DMSO, the additives commonly used today to freeze cells. Core Dynamics has expanded the scope of its basic directional freezing technology to include a number of different freezing methods adapted to different materials. The directional freezing, coupled with the Company's freeze-drying technology, are making it possible to freeze-dry a variety of cell types. Core Dynamics provides companies and institutions the opportunity to collaborateon the development of cell preservation methods and protocols to suit specific cell types.
