Essen Instruments Information

Essen Instruments is a privately held company located in Ann Arbor Michigan. While we’ve been developing instrumentation for cell-based assays since the early 1990’s (see Inventions), historically, we have licensed or sold our inventions to third parties for sales and distribution. To date, our instrument platforms and subsequent generations have accounted for nearly 1 billion dollars in worldwide sales. More recently, we’ve started offering both Instrumentation and contract Discovery Services directly to the life science industry. The contract work is a natural extension of our instrumentation business, as delivering turn-key assays has always been the cornerstone of our instrumentation development. The combination of our instrumentation capability and drug discovery experience makes Essen a unique provider of life science research tools and services.
